Table Shape
It should go without saying that the shape of the table will determine the shape of the linen that you choose. Often times, it can be easy to just start picking out patterns and colors, however, it is important that you have an idea of what shape and size tables you will be using and then make your selection of table linens.
Color
Although you can technically have table linens in whatever color you choose, if you want the theme, look, and even pictures to be cohesive, then you may want to really consider your overall theme. If you are going for a spring-themed wedding, then you should choose colors for your table linens that are relative to spring. And if you are having a very upscale, modern, and ultra-sophisticated wedding, then colors such as black, gold, and even silver can represent that well.
Centerpiece
Your centerpiece is what will draw in the eye and be the star of your table. If you already have a centerpiece, then it is a good idea to choose linens that compliment it. However, if you still haven’t chosen a centerpiece yet and absolutely must choose your linens first, then try to go with colors that are more on the neutral side such as white.
